Maurice Edward "Ed" Hover died peacefully at the age of 85 on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Barthell Eastern Star Nursing Home in Decorah, Iowa.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 701 Iowa Avenue, Decorah, IA.
Born and raised in Decorah, Ed dedicated his life to serving others—first as a social worker and later as a financial advisor. He was a proud graduate of Luther College, a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve, and an active member in many community and faith organizations.
He is survived by his wife Charilyn, their four daughters and families, and many extended relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Good Shepherd Memorial Fund, Barthell Eastern Star Nursing Home, or WinnMed Hospice.
