Decorah, Iowa - Jeanine Berg

Jean (Jeanine) Berg (Brinkman), age 77, of Decorah, IA, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sept. 15, 2025.

A celebration of life will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Helms Funeral Home, 306 E. Water Street, Decorah, IA.

Jean was born in LaCrosse, WI, to Glen and Margie (Schiffer) Brinkman. She was the oldest of four siblings. She graduated from Aquinas High School and attended UW Lacrosse.

Jean married Dewey (Duane) Berg in 1973 and moved to Decorah. Together, they had one daughter, Lindsey.

Jean was the co-owner of Copyland in Decorah for the past 25 years. Jean's affinity for numbers and attention to detail served her well in her career when she worked as a bookkeeper.

In their retirement, Jean and Dewey spent their winters in Mesa, AZ, with their canine companion, Marley.

Jean leaves behind her husband of 52 years, Duane Berg, and daughter Lindsey Berg; her sister Cathy Brinkman and brothers Alan Brinkman and Bruce Brinkman.

Following Jean's wishes, her body was cremated. In the spring, she will be reunited with her beloved flower garden that she meticulously cared for in her retirement.
