Diane A Borness, age 76, of Ankeny, Iowa died Tuesday September 02, 2025 at the Madrid Home in Madrid, Iowa.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, October 17, 2025 at Springfield Lutheran Church by Pastor Daryl Thompson with burial in Springfield Lutheran Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

Diane Alice Borness was born October 19, 1948 in Decorah, IA, the fifth daughter of Frank R Miller and Esther RJ Miller. Diane was the youngest of the Miller girls and enjoyed helping on the farms of her sisters and babysat her nieces, nephews, and others. She loved horses and would ride any chance that she could. She loved putting puzzles together her entire life.

Diane was united in marriage to David E. Borness on February 22, 1969 at Decorah Lutheran Church. To their union, a daughter and son were born: Shanna and Keith.

Following their marriage Diane worked at a medical clinic in Decorah, Iowa and helped her husband with his business. Diane loved horses and they loved her.

They decided to relocate their business to the Murray, Iowa area near Osceola, Iowa. Diane worked with her husband on training horses and ran the breeding operation when Dave went away to the horse shows and events.

Diane was always having fun with their customers and made lifelong friends everywhere that she went. She enjoyed playing cards, especially 500.

Family was everything to Diane. She was very proud of Shanna and Keith and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her smile and comments made you smile yourself. She was fun to be around and had a wonderful sense of humor. She was likeable.

Diane died battling Dementia/ Alzheimer's. She was strong until the end.

Survivors include her kids: Shanna Borness (special friend Chad Borsheim), Keith (Amy) Borness, her 6 grandchildren: Mitchell (Jennifer) Guyer, Dustin (Sami) Guyer, Casey Guyer, Tanner (Leslie) Guyer, Anna Borness and Ben Borness. Her great-grandchildren: Makayla Guyer, Harper Guyer, Brooklynn Guyer, and Dominic Guyer. Sisters: Marilyn (Albert) Anderson, Donna (Daryl) Bergan, Elaine (Emory) Fretheim, and Mary Jo (Stanley) Finholt. Sister-in-laws: Janice Grimes, Joanne (Justin) Roney, and Lorraine (Charles) Wangsness.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Esther Miller, her father and mother-in-law Einar and Jennie Borness, her great grandchildren Braeden James Guyer, Summer Rose Guyer, Adaline Paige Guyer and her brother-in-law Kenneth Grimes.
