Dennis Woodhouse, age 70, of Decorah, Iowa, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Ossian Care Center in Ossian, Iowa.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 16, 2026, at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 307 W Main St, Decorah, IA 52101, with Rev. Donald Hertges presiding. Burial will follow at the St. Benedict Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at St. Benedict Church on Monday.
Dennis Robert Woodhouse was born on May 26. 1955 in Decorah, Iowa, the son of Joseph and Janice (Headington) Woodhouse. Dennis graduated from Decorah High School in 1974. He lived on the family farm west of Decorah with his parents for many years, where he enjoyed riding his three-wheeler. Dennis went to work for Spectrum Industries. Dennis enjoyed going to the races at the fairgrounds every Saturday night. He was an avid Packer and Hawkeye fan. He enjoyed spending weekends with his parents, picking up walnuts, and being with his friends.
Dennis was survived by his two brothers: Tom (Mary) Woodhouse, Carlisle, IA, and Paul (Darlene) Woodhouse, Decorah, IA. Two sisters: Linda Woodhouse (husband Doug Peterson), Alexandria, VA, and Mary (Rich) Boesch, Sioux City, IA. Eleven nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents: Joseph and Janice Woodhouse, Decorah, Ia, sister, Beverly Gruenke, and several aunts and uncles.
